I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
